I happen to believe that steno is the gold standard of reporting. I'm not the least bit interested in training digitals. That is a vicious, slanderous rumor that continues to be shared in reporter circles. No, I do not actively advocate for digital reporting. Aren't you an advocate for digital reporting? While I'm glad to hear you talk about respect for the record and not thinking that reporters should rely on their audio - of which I would agree - aren't you advocating that the entire record/transcript can be adequately produced from a mere audio recording? In order to correct the record once and for all, I shared the following in Court Reporters of Facebook, Court Reporters Vent Here, and Court Reporters Vent Uncensored. I want to call people who work with Ukrainian partners not to terminate their contracts (because such situations already exist) but to support Ukrainian defenders. As an Eclipse scopist, I occasionally share PSAs on my Facebook page on various subjects that arise from my experiences in this business. I am writing this here on LinkedIn because this is a place where you can reach an audience worldwide. Our mission now is to make the whole world finally understand that Russia is an aggressor, and the situation in Ukraine is not an internal conflict, but war - a real war in which blood is shed, and people die for the eighth year in a row. I am so proud of fellow Ukrainians now - ordinary people who are doing their best to repel the enemy: spread the information over the Internet, make charitable contributions, create centers of territorial defense, and express the willingness to defend their land! For some reason, our "neighbor" decided that he has the right to take away what is ours - the land on which we live. I rarely post anything on LinkedIn, but I cannot remain silent in this situation.Īll Ukrainians are currently going through a very difficult time. It underscores what the positive psychology research teaches us: that success is enjoyable, but it's much greater when we love the people we achieve it with. Like Raheem Morris (Defensive Coordinators for the LA Rams), Larry Foote (former Linebacker for the Steelers, now coaching in Tampa Bay) and a few of his current coaches. And this mindset clearly has helped him to achieve what he has.īut there was one more big thing that I noticed that's worth sharing: the time when he lit up the most is when he saw and talked about other guys that were in the room. You could just feel the authenticity when he talked about how much comfort seeking bothers him. My wife doesn't provide me comfort, my Mom doesn't provide me comfort when we're getting smashed in the mouth out there, I don't want to hear that 'I'm doing my best.' I want to hear, 'you need to make some changes and start succeeding.'"Ĭhapter 2 of "Leadership is a Relationship," is all about accountability that's really what he was talking about here.but in ALL CAPS. "While people might think they are helping you out by providing you comfort, I don't want them anywhere near me. Coach Tomlin has a 70 year old guy on his staff, who "doesn't give a damn about what I've accomplished" and whose #1 mission is to make sure he hears the ground truth.Īnd this is where the elite performance and high intensity mindset shined the brightest:

over time, that will build a much stronger network for you.ģ. Instead, focus on your doing your job exceptionally well and focus on the people in "your team room". Stop spending so much time trying "to build a network" via social media, conferences, etc. Growing close and establishing intimate bonds is essential to success.Ģ. People reach their potential when leaders lean in and care about their success-and relentlessly challenge them to grow. Unique results don't happen without unique relationships. Like a lot of leaders that are as busy & high profile as he is, he rarely does speaking engagements.so getting a glimpse into his mindset was absolutely awesome. Throughout the rest of the day, 30+ coaches talked to me 1:1 about how timely and relevant the message is it’s always awesome to hear that your words make a difference.Ī huge bonus of the weekend was spending time in the same space as Coach Mike Tomlin. On Saturday in Miami, I had the opportunity to give my "Leadership is a Relationship" speech to 150 NFL and college football coaches.
